We are looking to hire a Mid-Senior Level Back end Ruby on Rails Engineer in Austin TX. We are looking for someone that is well experienced on the middle tier. Our client is an exciting start up building a scalable, maintainable architecture that fully leverages Amazon Web Services to deliver solutions. They are using the newest technologies and is looking for someone that is passionate about being on the cutting edge and learning new things. They currently use Rails 3.0 and will be using 2012 Rails 3.1 in early 2012. We are looking for someone with solid experience in a cloud operations environment and someone that has a high priority for ensuring reliability and continued scalability for applications.

This is a permanent opportunity here in Austin.

Required skills:

Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience
5+ years of solid Object Oriented programming experience
3+ years of Ruby on Rails Experience
2+ years experience building scalable solutions that can handle extensive growth
Experience managing a large cloud computing infrastructure
Experience with Amazon EC2 and S3
Experience with Linux
Experience with Postgres

Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript
Experience with Python
Experience with Java
Experience with Google Apps
Experience with GitHub (currently has a GitHub account)
Experience working for a start up
Experience contributing to the open source community
