You will be in charge of expanding and optimizing the backbone of our application and its tools. You are able to help shape the future architecture by blending the particular needs of our clientele with proven technology. You understand the challenges of scaling up software, and know how to execute fast. You are able to deal with the limitations and opportunities of our special security environment, requiring that we run most of our services in house and hence cannot rely on the typical cloud based services.

Your role involves deepening the company’s understanding of the requirements and implementing adequate solutions in an agile fashion. You contribute to developing a strategic vision for our platform, and help to expand current architecture into a service based system, both for our internal usage and integration with third parties.

As a developer you will:

• Identify our services, and how to translate this into APIs.
• Help design and build new integration services for third parties.
• Serving and processing files (documents, videos, images) in a secure and fast way.
• Build and maintain a statistics driven knowledge on how the application is doing.
• Identify and resolve potential security issues

Our current setup is a big Ruby on Rails application, using mainly MySQL for data storage, Redis/Resque for backend processing, MongoDB for storing tracking info and reporting.

You will work closely with the other developers, and with your colleagues in the support and account management functions. You are keen to find out the particularities of our clients in order to truly build the best solution for them.
You love the thrill and the speed of change of a quickly maturing startup. You don’t wait till ownership is given – you take it. You assume responsibility for the back-­‐end design and get the work done on time.

Required skills:

You are acquainted with our tools or are a quick learner. (Ruby, Rails, SQL, No-­‐SQL, Redis, …)
You have experience in developing non-­‐trivial applications.
