Client is an innovative and opportunistic multinational holding company with operations that span various industries. Through its Telecom subsidiary, Client provides telecommunications services worldwide to the retail and wholesale markets.
We are presently seeking Software Developer to work on Carrier Wholesale projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for building high-quality web software with the Ruby on Rails framework, maintaining existing web sites, and participating in the planning/creative phase for new projects. Ability to work on an agile team in a fast-paced environment is essential. The Rails Developer will report to the Vice President of Software Development.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop distributed, scalable, interactive web
applications using Ruby on Rails.
Design and lead the development of distributed,
scalable, interactive web applications.
Collaborate on defining clear requirements,
deliverables, and milestones for new projects.
Research, design, test, develop, and deploy
production-ready applications.
Develop libraries for technologies that we support
to give web developers optimal access to backend, and increase engineering
productivity.
Required skills:
Requirements Experience
2-5 years experience with LINUX/UNIX, Apache, and Oracle databases is preferred
Knowledge of server administration/deployment
strategies
Experience in implementing performance testing
metrics
Experience in developing high-traffic sites
Experience writing and maintaining code in Ruby on
Rails
Experience with large scale project methodologies
and tools (requirements gathering, configuration management, workflow
design, and quality assurance).
Experience with Capistrano, JavaScript, jQuery,
rSpec and Cucumber
Team work
Requires the ability to manage tasks and projects
independently, work with others in a mentoring role and be a technical
resource in the Ruby on Rails domain.
