Rails Developer needed for contract/full-time position

Ship Sticks, a Palm Beach, FL based start-up with offices in NY and West Palm Beach is looking for a Rails developer to become the foundation for our in-house development team or to work on a contract bases.

Required skills:

- BS in computer science or equivalent experience
- 2+ years working with Ruby/Rails (provide links to sites you’ve developed)
- Strong Javascript/JQuery skills
- Strong HTML/CSS skills
- Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, MVC and design patterns
- Excellent understanding of data modeling and software architecture
- Demonstrable understanding of good unit and functional test writing, preferably using RSpec and Cucumber
- Experience with all phases of product development life cycle, including requirements definition, specifications, development, test, product release, and sustaining engineering
- Self-managed proactive work style. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Able to work independently and in a team environment

Desired skills:

- Experience in integrating third-party API (UPS/FedEx/Authorize.net a plus)
- Experience working with Mongo
- Experience building transactional systems (banks, e-commerce, etc. a big plus)
