We are looking for an outstanding Rails Developer to join our growing team based in central London. This opening is a 6-12 month temp to perm contract.

BandCentral is an online communication, promotion and management toolbox for unsigned bands and musicians.

We are looking for someone that is not only a brilliant Ruby developer with ace AJAX/XHTML skills, but is also good communicator and is motivated enough to bring ideas to the table and then make them happen on their own initiative.

We are a young team based in some nice n’ shiny offices on Carnaby Street in central London . We work pretty hard (as with anyone trying to get a new app off the ground) but it’s a brilliant working environment. We encourage everyone on the team to develop new skills, both creatively and technically so the successful candidate will be someone who isn’t afraid to start on a feature where the solution isn’t already pre-packaged and pre-prepared.

Required skills:

Technically, you will possess most or all of the following skills:

• Many years of professional web programming experience (Ruby, Python, Perl, MySQL, PHP, AJAX etc…)

• 18 months of professional experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails

• Standards based XHTML + CSS experience with cross-browser compatibility

• Rails application deployment and tuning experience on *nix servers

• Outstanding application design and a proactive outlook toward usability

Desired skills:

A passion for music/bands and the independent gigging scene wouldn’t go astray either!
