Senior Web Applications Developer – Ruby on Rails
Location: San Francisco – South of Market

We are angel funded start up based in SOMA – San Francisco. We are developing a social media portal for the pharmaceutical development industry.

Product we’re building:

Drug development projects face a 15 year, billion dollar slog, before going from “bench to bedside”. We are developing a new product that will make it easier for pharmaceutical companies to find, evaluate and manage partners from around the world, greatly reducing inefficiencies in the development lifecycle. The product will dramatically change how drug companies collaborate and your role is to architect and build it.

Your role:

You will partner with our 3rd party web development and design agency to build and deploy the first generation site. You will have solid experience developing large-scale high-traffic web-based applications for use by both enterprise customers and the general public. You will be a seasoned developer, willing to architect, code and get your hands dirty in the intricacies of wiring into different customer systems.

You will have:

- CANDIDATES WITHOUT RUBY ON RAILS EXPERIENCE NEED NOT APPLY

- Significant Ruby on Rails experience (with Python/Java);

- Strong knowledge of front-end development with AJAX, Javascript, CSS, and

HTML

- An extensive history of and interest in software development

- BS or MS in Computer Science or technical/quantitative field

- 5-6 years professional experience

- Experience with agile development techniques including test-driven

development and priority-based planning

- Experience as a team-lead on software development projects

- Start-up experience at a fast growing web company is a plus
