Founding Partner CTO

We’re a successful Toronto start-up competing in a hot, emerging Web/mobile segment. We’ve received great market recognition and experienced good traction, but the best is yet to come.

We’re looking for a CTO that can roll-up their sleeves and act as a lead developer for an initial period. You’ll be a senior member of the founding team and receive founding shares and equity.

You are someone who:
- Is passionate about the technology, the business and the people
- Regularly meets or beats deadlines
- Pays attention to detail
- Is an excellent communicator
- Knows how to design and write elegant code that will scale efficiently
- Is able to mentor and lead other less experienced staff

Required skills:

Your experience:
- Large scale software development projects employing Ruby on Rails and MySQL in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
- 2-3+ years solid experience developing Ruby on Rails applications
- Disciplined approach to software development, Test Driven Development, and Agile methodology
- Solr, jQuery, YUI, XML, JSON, Twitter API, and Ajax

Desired skills:

- Regular user of social media, social networks, Web 2.0 environments, Twitter, etc.
