Flowtown moves quickly (sensing a pattern here?) and we are looking for someone who can move even faster and is a talented and passionate Ruby on Rails developer who loves building great products.
You’re not afraid to tackle any problem that may be in your way. You thrive in an independent, high growth, fast paced start-up environment. You welcome uncertainty but enjoy working towards certainty. More importantly, you know certainty is certainly uncertain (you should be dizzy by now). You know that speed to market is king, and iteration is necessary to rapidly evolve products.
The position is full-time and is based out of our main office in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission district. This position will help build the next-generation system behind Flowtown’s products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and help architect web applications using Ruby on Rails
- Enforce code quality through test driven development
- Help optimize and scale our system to support user growth
- Work closely the rest of the team and contribute to the direction of the product and technology
Requirements
- Significant expertise with Ruby on Rails
- Rapid learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of relational databases, preferably MySQL
- Experience with Async job queues (DelayedJob)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Bonus Round
- Contributions to open source projects
- SaaS experience: subscriptions, white labeling
- Experience developing and launching real-world applications
- Knowledge of web technologies: XHTML, JavaScript
- B.S. Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Maintains a blog
