The California State University, Northridge’s (CSUN) Director of Web and Technology Services of Student Affairs seeks a Ruby on Rails Developer to provide programming, testing, and delivery of a web application to manage alternative testing accommodations for the department of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) and the students they serve.

This exceptional opportunity allows the successful candidate to assume responsibility for the day-to-day communication with business stakeholders and provides input for decision-making regarding the delivery of student-centered services and programs focused on learning and development. This role will help deliver user-friendly student-centric online services; provide programming tasks associated with delivering the Alternative Testing application; perform testing and documentation of the delivered system; provide support for related issues, needs, and concerns that might arise; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required skills:

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education. Equivalent six months of full-time, responsible experience performing computing and technical analysis working with Ruby on Rails systems and/or in web-development. Knowledge of programming and testing methods and techniques for web development. Thorough knowledge of client/server technology, analytical methods and techniques, general programming and testing methods and techniques, and general knowledge of standard web development tools.
