We are a stealth mode startup company that will revolutionize the space we are taking on and we are looking for a part time or full time programmer with advanced to expert experience programming in Java, Python, Perl, PHP or Ruby to work closely with our four person engineering team, product manager, and founder to develop an application to parse unstructured text. The ideal person will have industry and/or academic experience working on a wide range of problems (e.g. text parsing, pattern recognition, text classification, data mining, or spam detection). The position will involve tackling some very interesting business issues. Your role will be to take the lead with regard to machine learning architecture and related development and to contribute to early product vision.

About The Role
Design and implement highly scalable machine learning algorithms and machine learning software.
Design and implement data mining involving large and complex data sets involving existing and future data.
Contribute to product strategy and vision.
Someone working on a masters or PhD with a focus in semantic web, search or machine learning technology who could help part time would also be considered. The right person would also be comfortable with front end and back end development.

Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science. M.S. or Ph.D.
Expert knowledge developing and debugging in Java, Python, Perl, PHP or Ruby. We are currently working with Ruby on Rails with MySQL, but would prefer someone who is flexible and language agnostic.
A minimum of 3 years of programming experience, excluding classroom assignments.

Desired
MongoDB experience (or experience with something similar)
Experience with any of the following: Cloudera, Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Cascading
Experience with Cloud Computing
Experience with Lucene, Solr, or Sphinx
