Description:

Seeing Interactive is a rapidly growing startup, based in SF, that is dedicated to saving local newspapers. Our flagship product, Xarket, is a local business directory and review site that relies on special market knowledge that only a local newspaper can provide. We’ve been very successful out of the gate with thousands of paying customers (with a staff of less than 10 employees) and would like your help to scale to millions. We’re a YCombinator startup that is backed by some of SV’s top angels and VCs. We are already profitable and seeking to scale our engineering team and product offerings.

The Reason You to Work Here
You’ve read a dozen other job listings, and they’re all starting to sound the same. If we listed our job requirements, you’d be hearing a lot of the same stuff you’ve already heard: Ruby, Rails, Merb, blah, blah, blah. We’ll spare you. What we really want is someone who loves to do great work, who loves to hone their craft, and who loves to think. We also want folks who are excited about building a successful company in the short and longer term.

The Way of the Samurai
Seeing Interactive’s development culture is focused on mastery. No matter how good you are when you come in, it is our goal to make every day a day for self-improvement. Code reviews, pair programming, etudes, show-and-tell — whatever it takes, we want to do it to make you even better at the craft that you love.
